Chemo Treatments

Here are photos of the chemo treatments that I have had to endure.  Chemo has to be one of the most barbaric forms of medicine.  I Can Not Believe That This Is The Way To A Cure…

Chemo Treatment - March 12 2009 Neulasta Injection

My first Neulasta injection. Relatively painless, though I was feeling like crap already. The wound from the port-a-cath surgery had developed a hematoma, and the nurse had to squeeze the excess blood and fluid out of the wound. That was pretty painful.

Chemo Treatment - March 27 2009 Neulasta Injection

This is the injection that puts white blood production into overdrive and results in fairly significant bone and joint pain. I would get this injection the day after each chemo treatment. The cost was $2600/per injection.

Chemo Treatment - April 23 2009 Chemo Infusion

This was my fourth treatment of the A/C combo (Adriamycin, aka Red Devil, and Cytoxan). Mom was busy talking with another lady who was going through breast cancer, so we only got this one shot... I was also getting tired of the photos. It was becoming too hard to hide the pain and despair I was feeling. This was the day I made my decision to forgo further chemo and explore gene therapy.
