Breast Pain

I’ve been having a lot of breast pain the last couple of days.

Stabbing pains, similar to before
When I didn’t know what was going on
but the results were good
is this good?

I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop
it always drops
is this the drop?

what is this pain
Is it good or
is it
something to be
concerned about?

Is it somehow related to
the milk
the delicious milk
that I am drinking now?

that’s the relationship
between
milk and cancer
between
calcium and cancer?

so
many
questions.

Listing

Dang… I have so much to think about now…

I’m so tired, emotionally spent.
Listing…

So much to do
So much to list…

* Have to contact the drug companies and update them…
Need to change my contact and mailing info and see how this unemployment affects my status and / or programs eligibility. Hopefully nothing to worry about.

* Check out unemployment, if I qualify.

Finding another job will be difficult due to my health situation. I often go in late cuz the mornings are difficult for me. Sometimes the headaches keep me up at night, or wake me up throughout the night; sometimes I get very little sleep, or I have to take sleeping aids so that my sleep is not real rest. I miss some work for Doctor appointments and have tests and procedures…

The meds have side effects like memory issues and balance problems and the Hand and Foot Syndrome has the tips of my fingers and toes ultra sensitive and splitting and I’m wearing band-aids and finger cots on my fingers.

I’ve applied for unemployment twice in my life, but never have collected cuz I always got a job before I got my benefits. This will be a new situation for me and not one that I am proud of.

* Need to get back onto Auctiva and start TeamDenise’s eBay account and start selling again.
I lost confidence in my selling in March of 2008. I need to get it back.

* Need to get my fundraiser project back on track.
Yes, I’m tired, yes I’m tired of feeling like a beggar… but it’s not getting done and I want to keep myself alive, so that means money. And there will be even less money than there was before, so I need to get out there and do it.

And
* Waiting for the results of my PET scan…
Scared of what they will showed. Hopeful, but so scared.

I’m so tired… but what can I do with this
Listing?

Healing from the Inside Out – A Seminar

This evening I attended a very interesting seminar @ Lakewood United Methodist Churchon Louetta.
Was invited by an old high school friend, Nache’.

It was about your health and the foods you eat.  Of course everything was very single-sided, as most presentations are.  But I have to say – it Did Make A Lot Of Sense.  And provided information that I am glad to have.

There was a special guest, Dr. Desiree Jones, who spoke first.
Dr. Jones had some very good opinions of health and causes of disease, definitely worth considering.

Then a video presentation of “Healing Cancer from the Inside Out” which promoted the Rave diet & lifestyle. It is probably a bit too much for me to totally embrace, but I am going to try and incorporate as much into my life as I can. I already eat lots and lots of fresh fruits and veggies, and could definitely limit the meat intake, so that will be good changes. Interesting to hear about the oils though, had not really considered how bad oils are for the body.

Mom ordered the DVD for her and Dad to view…

The evening was not at all what I thought it would be… I thought it would be a well-attended, spirit-filled event.
But there was only a hand full of people – mostly women.

However, the information was Awesome and I’m Very Glad I attended!

AminoCare – A Division of Burzynski

Seems Burzynski’s research has branched out over the years.  Check out AminoCare.

Of course, it’s all about the timeless search for extended quality and quantity of life – giving the body back what it has lost due to time and disease…

AminoCare A10 – The Genetic Solution for Anti-Aging”. Aminocare® Products L.P. is the latest division of the Burzynski Clinic. It is the result of over thirty years of research and practice of Dr. Burzynski and his team. The goal of this newly developed division is to promote prevention of the effects of aging and extend longevity from a whole new approach, one that focuses on genetics

I’ve acquired some of  the “AminoCare A10“.  It was strongly suggested that I add this to my daily dietary regime… At $120 for 120 tablets, and 4 tables per day, it’s a rather pricey item to try blindly.  However, my Folks taught me to be a Big supporter of vitamins and minerals, and I have personally included herbs in my daily regime.  So, I’ll try it for a month and see how I feel…

Nutritionist – Burzynski Clinic

I met with the Nutritionist today.

One of my big life problems in these later years has been my weight. It has cost me dearly, yet it is a demon I have never mastered.

I am a stress eater, a mood eater, an emotional eater.  I have packed on the pounds due to personal issues that haunt me…

Anyway.

The meeting with the Nutritionist was very interesting and informative. First off, I don’t eat that “bad” to begin with, but then I pretty much thought that was the case.  I don’t drink soda – water is my drink of choice.  I don’t much like fried foods, or stuff with sauce overload or lots of red meats.  I Love fresh fruits and veggies, and seafoods.

But… I Do like most cheeses, chips and salsa and chocolate.  And Carbs.  Majorly Love Carbs  :-(

And I have a Serious Portion Control issue.  The Nutritionist suggested I consider the Volumetrics Eating Plan.  Gotta say, it makes some sense to me!

So, there are some Major changes I need to make.  All the nuts and seeds I thought were so good, are a bit too high in calorie count, so need to cut back on those.

Plus I need to be more selective in the types of fish that I’m eating – for example, catfish is not a “good” fish, being a bottom-feeder.  Wild Salmon = Yes; Farm-raised Salmon = No.

My animal protein intake is ok – I only eat red meat about one a month, pork maybe twice, chicken a couple times, and lots of fish/seafood.  I Do need to eat more beans and legumes for protein – I can do that.

My carbs need to be better defined – White rice = No; Brown rice = Sometimes.  Pasta = Sometimes, but only wheat or wholegrain.

And because my breast cancer is hormonal based (estrogen), I have to cut all the soy out of my diet (cuz soy is Very high in estrogen), which is Really Crummy as I Love Tofu, edamame, etc  :-(   Soy Health Risks for Women

Definitely a Lot to remember, but worth it.  Hope these changes not only help in my recovery and overall health, but will also help in my weight issues!

I feel MUCH better choosing a treatment / recovery which places high value on nutrition and diet.

I’ve downloaded copies of all the resource information handouts here:

PET Scan #2 – April 16 2009

Went to take the 2nd PET Scan today. What a difference from the first one – in many ways…

Location:
Houston Medical Imaging

3310 Richmond Ave
Houston, TX 77098
713.524.9555

Technician: Juliette

It’s really a beautiful building with a nice courtyard and central fountain… someone there is a collector of geodes and rock/mineral formations cuz there were Many of them, especially the Enormous one at the front door. It’s a purple amethyst geode, probably close to 6ft tall. Too bad someone painted the outside green, cuz it looks like a big misshapen pickle…

Anyway, back to the PET Scan
It was $1400, and that was the discounted rate. Wham.

The prep for the procedure itself was much different than the first one at North Cypress Medical Center.

At Houston Medical Imaging, first Theresa, the orderly, put me in a room, sat me in a nice comfy overstuffed recliner, and covered me with a blanket. There was no TV or phone like at North Cypress Medical Center, but I had brought the laptop that Rob was lending me, so that I could Blog, and Mom left her cell phone so I could make calls (she was waiting in an outer waiting room while I was being prepped).

Then the technician, Juliette, came in to administer the trace. We talked a bit as I was prepared for the injection. She was recently expecting, so she could not administer, but she was there making sure everything went as procedure required. When she saw the cell phone, and I asked to plug in the laptop, she looked at me like I was crazy.

What she told me was pretty much as follows:

~This is a very sensitive test, and in order to get accurate results, you need to lie as still as possible, no unnecessary movements, no stimulation – no phone, no laptop, no water, nothing. We will administer the injection, then we will turn off the light and close the door. You will need to relax for the next 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, you will go to the bathroom and empty your bladder, and then you will have the scan run.~

Wow. BIG difference from the first test… could be why it was “subpar”.

The only thing, besides the actual test being performed (of course) that was similar between the 2 scans, was that both places had very nice people. That helps…

So they injected the trace, wrapped me up, turned off the light and closed the door… I quickly realized I was getting cold, so I did call out for more blankets, which were brought, plus an extra one to wrap my cold head. For the next 45 minutes I drifted in and out of a light snooze.

When the time was up, Theresa came to escort me to the Scan Room, and we got it going. I’m not claustrophobic, so I managed to fall asleep a couple times during the scan too.

I hope we get a good read and some good news comes my way. So much bad news lately.

After the scan was complete, Mom and I packed up and I went back to work.

I get the feeling there will be quite a few days like this… medical tests and then back to work. ~sigh~
