Fundraiser – A Little (Info) Help From My Friends…

Dear Friends,

I have been blessed with an Awesome opportunity for a breast cancer fundraiser. It’s something that will fairly “easy” for me to work at, accomplish a lot and should be fun for everyone.  And if it’s successful, then I’ll have some financial breathing room… so I’m Really Excited!

I do, however, need some Help From My Friends…

I need names of celebrities; these people have to be alive and functioning. Examples –

* Actors, directors, comedians…
* Artists, comic book creators / designers…
* Athletes – swimming, tennis, gymnastics, track…
* Authors…
* Cooks…
* Couples…
* Entrepreneurs…
* Game designers…
* Musicians – any genre of music
* NASCAR…
* Newscasters and interviewers…
* Politicians…
* Rodeo…
* Scientists, inventors…
* Sports teams / players – football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer…
* TV Personalities…
* ETC, ETC, ETC!

If the person might be considered a bit obscure, please identify who it is.

I need a well-rounded list and thought this would be the best way to get variety.

If you know of someone and have a means to contact them, please mention this via a private email, if necessary (denise@TeamDenise.org).

Ok, let’s see what y’all can come up with!!

Much Thanks and More to Come,

denise

Social Security Fiasco

Oh Good Grief…

I have worked since I was 15yrs… have always paid my taxes and never abused the government resources that are, as an American citizen, available to me.

I was told that if my work hours dropped under 32/week (which they have), that I Should be able to apply for financial assistance due to my medical situation.

So… Today I go to the Social Security office, to apply for disability, since I am missing work and need the income to pay my bills.  Thinking Since I’ve been paying for these past 35+years, that I Should be entitled to Something back, right…?

GUESS AGAIN.

I typically work a standard month = 4.3 weeks @ 5 days/week = (approximately) 172 hours (approximately 21 days)/month.  At least I Used to.  With this cancer, I loose hours due to running late in the morning cuz I’m so tired and can’t get going, or Dr appointments or just plain ill.  But I Work.

To get any SS Benefit, I have to either Loose My Job, or Decrease My Hours by At Least 123 HOURS a Month (or 15.4 days out of 21) to get a little less than 75% of my pay.  THEN it would take Up To THREE months for any payment to kick in.

What Employer Would Put Up With THAT?  Especially one that’s using me as a Temp Employee??

I WANT to work, I just need help right now.

PLUS found out that any assistance I’m getting (with my meds) would be forfeited due to the “extra income”.  Oh yah, I’m Rolling in the dough.

Face it – The System Sucks.
