The Price of War?

Friday I ran an errand for a family friend.  The friend has cancer, and he is receiving treatment at MD Anderson.  The errand took me to MD Anderson.

MD Anderson.

THE MD Anderson

First time I’ve ever been there.

One thing that struck me was how much money has been put into architecture and decor.  Like most hospitals these days, it’s Very extravagant.  WTH?  I don’t understand it.  Personally, I could do without all the foofy and waterfalls and fish tanks and marble and granite and etc and etc and etc.  Yes, I’ve heard that MD Anderson is THE cancer place to be, but I’m sure those costs add up and – in my opinion – please apply them to treatments, battles, discoveries, surviving.  I’d be just as happy with a lil basic room, tastefully decorated and knowing that the extra money was going to war.

Just saying.
